I have an assignment for university that is creating a similar sound comparing to this one. Can someone help please?

"On The Run - Pink Floyd" patch
-
research this synth

to me it sounds like a 8-step sequencer going into a square wave with a resonant lowpass filter (you can use a [bob~] object for that)
for the square wave you might want to use a bandlimited one, which can be tricky if constrained to pd vanilla.
you'll want the metro running the sequencer to trigger an envelope for each note (for filter and maybe amplitude) -
You sound like an expert. Can you send me a patch that sounds like the sound in the video?
-
@henrique99sl hmm well I'm not sure I should do your homework for you, but I can tell you I would store the sequence in an array and read it back with a
[tabread]
driven by a[metro]
and a counter.you can look in the help files for an example of an adsr.
Are you allowed to use externals? that would make things a lot easier. -
no, im not allowed to use externals. well, i already have a patch with a similar sound, but i think you could do much better. the only reason i can't send you picture of my patch is because someone of my class might be reading this.
-
@henrique99sl I don't understand, why would it be bad if someone else in your class saw your patch?
-
@henrique99sl I understand your concern.... but everyone in your class will currently be googling like a crazy person.
If @seb-harmonik.ar were to post a patch they would find that too and all your homework would be identical.I suggest...... because it's not easy to get started..... that you download Automatism...... https://www.automatonism.com/the-software
READ the instructions carefully...... a new copy of the automatism folder for each project or you will get in a mess..... copy the folder to a new one.... just for your project.... and keep the original clean and so ready to copy when you start a new project.
I don't use it...... but I believe that it will contain all the modules..... patches...... that you could use to construct your synth...... 8-stepts..... adsr....... bob-filter...... etc.
You could use any of the modules (in patch_editor_abs) in the patch that you have already made if you wish.
It seems to be Vanilla..... no externals....

@whale-av That is a bit beyond Pd programming though, as Automatonism (which is great, and sometimes I do use it for teaching and trying to get people into Pd) conveniently packs all the programming into its abstractions.
@henrique99sl I don't know the specifics of your assignment, but asking for people to just send you patches is definitely not netiquette, so I would advise you to refrain from asking questions like this in community fora, like this one. As a reference, here's a post of an older admin of this forum (Maelstorm was an admin, right?) about this.
