Sending and receiving information to other devices (iphones even?)
@raynovich I was involved with some Mobmuplat issues a year ago........ https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/topic/12748/mobmuplat-grid-not-receiving-message-from-pd/7
The "wrapper" is the important part of Pd that deals with the comms for the Mobmuplat app.
The original "wrapper" was 32-bit MrPeach and I don't know whether it has been updated....
That thread might help..... it was a bit long but got there in the end.
There are some patches toward the end that worked for a "grid" and you could use for testing in Vanilla.

Manage MIDI message from pure data to daw
@JamesStick The videos all say they are corrupted unfortunately.
But I will guess that you might have some kind of a midi feedback problem......... somehow when you send to reaper you are receiving a message back into Pd....... and whatever is sending it back is clever enough to recognise the loop and kill it.
That is all I can think of straight away.
Try setting Pd only to listen to midi from your pads. If that is already the case then the pads must be listening for midi from Reaper and then of course sending it to Pd.
David.
Manage MIDI message from pure data to daw
@JamesStick It seems Reaper has a problem with note off (that other programs do not). The forums are littered with complaints.
I haven't found why yet...... still looking.....
Are you using a plugin in Reaper?

Manage MIDI message from pure data to daw
Hi,
I'm trying to use pure data as MIDI filter before to entry to my DAW (Reaper) because I would like to modify the behaviour of a percussion midi device. The device send the message note on and off at the same time but I would like to use the percussion pad like a trigger. So with first stroke note is on and stay, second stroke note is off.
I'm able to do it entirely on pure data to control an oscillator or a sampler, but I'm not able to replicate this behaviour when I send midi message to the DAW trough noteout object. In fact I can send note on and stay to reaper but any note off.
Can someone explain me the right way to do that?
pdjs: JavaScript for PD
@mganss @jancsika Following some ideas from this thread, i made a simple wrapper for pdjs, with which you can write javascript code directly into objects. It is not very pretty and you have to use [] instead of {}, but it is some fun:

As the script file is rewritten and the code compiled each time the wrapper is called, this could also work as an extension, where javascript.pd and script are within an extension folder and can be called from everywhere.
This is just experimental and an early idea. No idea if this could go somewhere.
PD + ASIO4ALL + USB Mixer not working
Hello!
I hope this is the right place to ask this and not too specific, but nothing I have read here and elsewhere on the internet could help me solve my problem so far.
I am running PD vanilla on a laptop with Windows 10 and want to use it for live performances in the future. As an audio interface I am using a small Peavey USB mixer (PV6 USB). It is a class compliant device and I am already using it with ASIO4ALL and Reaper for quite some time without any problems, but I am not getting it to work with Pure Data the way I want to.
I am using the same sample rate and buffer size settings, but I do not get any sound - only cracks and an immediate red exclamation mark from ASIO4ALL in the control panel.
The weird thing is that ASIO, Reaper and my mixer are working just fine in combination, as well as MMIO, Pure Data and the mixer (and ASIO, Pure Data and the built-in mic from my laptop also work together) . Every possible combination works, but not the one I want to use...
Does anyone have any idea what else I could try besides getting a different interface? Or is there any other option for stabel low latency audio on Windows besides ASIO4ALL? (I have also tried JACK2 but this did not help because I was still using ASIO4ALL and only routing it via JACK)
Thanks!
Save and recall midi settings in a project
@Rachitic-dada Lucarda has updated "mediasettings" for 64-bit Pd and it can be found through deken with a search for "midisettings"
It used to be available bundled in extended.
It will give you the device names in the order reported, and so with a lot of work it should be possible to build a "wrapper" patch that then re-routes midi..... [notein] [noteout] etc. to bespoke (say) [mynotein] [mynoteout] abstractions that put everything back in the correct order.
If you can make it universal (by adding device names as arguments to the wrapper abstraction) then there might be others that will find it useful.
David.
Newbie: external input
Hello,
I'm just beginning to learn pure data....
I would like to work with sounds coming from an external input.
As I saw in a tutorial, I want to show the envelope of the sound coming from the mic.
Seems quite basic but... nothing is happening?!
Can someone help me out with this?
Here's a printscreen of all the different settings.
What am I missing???
Also, I checked with reaper, there is sound coming in through the mic. I closed reaper before opening pure data to make sure there's no conflict with the sound device. That didn't help though...
(i'm on mac osx 10.14.4 )

mobmuplat grid not receiving message from pd
@liamorourke That's right.
I just tested your grid on my phone and it works.
The [pdwrapper] is just for testing the patch with the editor while you are developing it...... so it is not required when you upload the patch [grid] to Android.
So the messages to format can also be dropped from [grid] once you have completely finished the development and are happy with your patch.
BUT it looks like Mobmuplat might be designed to talk over a network at the same time to Pd on another device...... your computer?
If that is the case the wrapper would still be needed on the computer and the right hand side of the wrapper might need some modification.
I have a lot of reading to do.
I cannot get the wrapper to open the broadcast socket and talk to my phone yet...... probably a setting in my home routers will need to be changed.......
David.
