Hello,
How to enable jack support with PureData on Windows ? Do the compiled binaries (available from puredata.info) support Jack ? Or do I need to recompile pd ?

Pd for Windows with Jack support ?
-
You can use the Jack ASIO driver.

@Spacechild1 Do you mean JackRouter ? Unfortunately, it seems it is no longer included in Jack2
(https://jackaudio.org/news/2020/10/15/jack2-v1915-release-and-current-status.html)But I thought that puredata had native support for Jack, even on Windows, or not ?
(I'm not a current Windows user) -
@jyg What do you want Jack to do for you?
Pd asks the OS for a list of audio drivers and their "pins" at startup..... audio connections in and out..... so you can then select the ones you want to use in the audiosettings menu.
If you want low latency and/or to use multiple devices then Asio4All is a good driver...... http://www.asio4all.org/
It will give you the same function as "aggregate device" on osx.
If you want to pass audio between applications then you can use virtual audio cables.... https://vb-audio.com/Cable/
They and Asio4All will all appear in the audiosettings menu (select asio first) and you can route your audio where you wish.
If you choose to use Asio4All as the driver then you will also see the virtual cables in its window.
You can then route Pd audio anywhere you wish using [adc~ x] and [dac~ x]

Thank you for your replies.
@whale-av I wanted to use Jack to connect Pd (and VCV Rack) with Jamulus software for an online workshop. I thought that Jack would be a cross-platform solution (some students use Windows, others use OS-X) but it is not the case. I'll check vb-audio.com but I think I will give a try to puredata aoo (audio over osc) external . -

I'm not sure what your setup is, but at the moment Aoo only allows to interconnect Pd and Supercollider instances (over local networks or the public internet). You would still need something like Jack or vb cable to connect Pd and VCV locally, right? Or are some people using only Pd and some only VCV?

@jyg i'd suggest installing another os for this like BSD or Linux, i had similar problems on windows 10, and i tried jack and ASIO4ALL, and had some success, but i was a pain to deal with, now i uninstalled windows and installed linux, and everything just works, unfa ||https://www.youtube.com/user/unfa00|| has some great videos on jack and sound production on linux.
