Hey all,
Trying to figure out how to/if it's possible to create subpatches dynamically. I was attempting to use this message but firing the message simply crashes PureData
I'm wondering if there's some internal message I'm missing as I see that the restore portion of the message marks the end of the new canvas definition so I'm wondering if maybe there's a specific internal way new subpatches are created that's inaccessible via message creation.

@oid Ahhh okay that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying the difference within the save file. I had just searched the file for "canvas" and went with that haha

@whale-av Awesome, are those messages documented anywhere? I'm still learning my way around this side of PD. Is there a good way to tell what arguments the internal messages take? Trying to figure out how [find] works. I'm assuming it takes a symbol
Also, is it possible to create a canvas in a similar manner to other GUI elements? I tried using the reference here https://puredata.info/docs/developer/PdFileFormat#r21
but am receiving the error
canvas: no method for 'canvas'
with this message
Thanks in advance. Really appreciate the help

Hey all,
I am starting my journey into dynamic patching and was wondering if it is possible to dynamically create sliders, toggles, etc within the current .pd file. I have found a lot of examples for creating objects within subpatches, but not directly in the current one.
The reason I want to do this is I am designing some tools for iPad, which PDParty cannot render graph on parent objects, so all GUI objects need to reside in the main file.

@Mortfell What was the solution to this? I am having issues with the exact same error when transferring to an older version.

Hey all,
First time poster, slowly getting better user. I was curious if there is a way to get comments to be saved so they are printed vertically. I attempted to indent and stack letters alone newlines, which works and gives the desired effect when you initially edit, but upon reloading the patch it seems to lose the newline information. I'm wondering if there's a way to force this based on how PD parses comments when opening.
Thanks in advance!
