let me try again , (I removed all the details) .
I have some problems with the synthesis name "chapo" inside Jupiter patch.

• capture of the main window ( a copy)
  

• capture of the abstraction {chapo]
  

I don't get the algorithm on the left side of the main window ;
neither the synthesis. I see additive synthesis but their is this table named 'chapo_spect'..

I copied this chapo part with the depedencies there :

First of all, in [pd loadChapo], [inlet] is not connected to [read chapo.snd chapo.snd( so the audio file isn't loaded to the table. Even if you load it, [expr] in the [chapo] abstraction always outputs 0, so no sound is coming out of the abstractions.
I don't really know what '' means, but even without it I got the same...

What happens is that [r chapo-metro] receives a value that increments and hits the ceiling of 10,000 (or something like that) and stays there. In [expr] you have chapo_spect[min(127\, $f1 * $f2)], which will output the value stored at the table "chapo_spect at index min(127\, $f1 * $f2). Since $1 is 10,000 and $2 is some value greater than 1 (which it is), this min will output 127, which is the index for chapo_spect table, and if you check the value of this table at index 127, it's 0. So [expr] always outputs 0 and you get no sound.
Check the left side of your patch as the value ending in [s chapo-metro] goes very high, or change the index you read in [expr] in your abstraction.

• I only see an impact on signal amplitude. so I d'ont get the function of all this algorithm, finishing inside this enveloppe generator ?
• detail : do you know the function of the character \ inside chapo_spect[min(127\, $f1 * $f2)] ?

Sorry but I don't understand... What I got was very high values that would multiply inside [expr] and then be compared to 127. This is what min(127, $1 * $2) does. Multiplication is of higher precedence in C, so it will happen first inside the parenthesis.
[expr] does read the "chapo_spect' table, but always at index 127, since the min() output will always result in 127, and the table has the value 0 at that index.
I don't think '' does something there. In C it is usually used to split the elements of an array to multiple lines. I tried removing it and the behavior was exactly the same...

@mx I don't even understand how the backslash was typed into the patch... in pd 043ext it is not possible to type it. Maybe it has been added to a newer version?

we are agree , ( I said it does not read the table because it only read one value, whereas the table has 128 value... so there is a mistake somewhere).

edit : the synthesis is suppose to be one voice of "28 voices of additive synthesis with spectral envelope applied to each partial ...
