Hi guys,

I'm trying to take a total of 1090.91 off a grand total of 4363.64. So after taking 1090.91 off 4363.64 four times I should get 0. But pd gives me -0.000244141 ! Why is this? and is there anyway in pd I can get pd to give the correct answer of 0? Am I missing something? (I've included an example patch to help).

I guess this happens because of Pd's precision, which is not as precise as you think. =0.000244141 is very close to 0, so you can actually treat it like a 0. You can set a threshold, below which all values will be zeroed (use [abs] in this case).

Thanks for this. I'm struggling to figure out how to implement the [abs] in my example. Could you show me please? So any values below 1 are zeroed?

This solves your problem: one.pd
if you are using Pd extended.
Although it is not really a definitive solution.
