I'm excited to share a new external library I've been developing called dmj. This library is now available on Codeberg and offers some data, audio processing and GUI externals.

@porres The only virus is you porres I did submit to Microsoft for analysis but you can wait until the files are in deken if you don't trust the installer.

I would just host the source on the repo host, and wait for deken to upload the release/artifacts
uploading the .zip file in the repo in the meantime rather than uploading the source and just waiting for deken to upload the package seems like an odd choice

I am actually being serious. It was very weird to see no source code and just see an .exe file, it did really come to mind some sort of suspicion and I had to look for other posts from you in the forum to discard the suspicion. I't just really really common for people to release open source libraries that you can see the source code and provide externals as a .zip file, no .exe installer. Don't take it wrong, that is just weird and not usual. Take it as an honest suggestion. So I ask again, where is the source code? I mean, not even the help files are there and this is really encryptic. Do you plan to open the source code?

I am not a window user, I can't test the windows .exe neither when it comes out via deken. I'd hope for the source code so I could build to check it out or at least just see the help files.

@porres Hey, no worries. So it's just a Windows installer like the one you get from Miller's site. For Windows there are two types, .exe or .msi. It installs everything in /Pd/externals,: all dlls, help files, README. Windows does flag Pd installer too as a threat, but to get a certificate is very expensive. It is much easier for me to package everything as a Windows installer because I do it from VS.

@seb-harmonik.ar Not odd at all, It's just a Windows installer that will place all the files in the corresponding Pd/externals. There is nothing easier than that. I already asked Microsoft to remove it from their security list,

I appreciate your interest in my library, and I'm happy to answer your questions. However, I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised by the number of questions I'm getting, especially on a Sunday afternoon. I've been working with Max and Pd since the early 2000s, and I've had the privilege of knowing many of the people involved in these projects, including Miller Puckette, as well as collaborators at Ircam and the University of California, where I studied and taught. I've always been impressed by the sense of community and camaraderie that has defined this group, and it's a bit disheartening to see a change in behavior that seems more focused on scrutiny and skepticism. To be honest, I'm getting more questions than I did during my dissertation exam with Miller Puckette, which is a bit overwhelming. I understand that English may not be the first language for many of you, and I'm doing my best to respond to every single comment. To answer your questions once again, I've already mentioned that all sources will be available if that's your concern. If you're interested in exploring the library now, you can download the Windows installer from the repo or wait until I upload the deken package, which is ready and just waiting for my account to be set up. I hope this clears up any remaining questions, and I wish you all a good rest of the evening. But I have to say, the tone and behavior I'm seeing here is making me reflect on whether I should really be sharing my work with this community. I've always been driven by a desire to contribute and share my knowledge, but it's hard to feel motivated to do so when I'm met with this level of skepticism and scrutiny.

Thanks for the comradery. We're not friends and, to be honest, I did think it was really uncalled for, but I didn't take in a bad way and tried to answer politely.

I've been part of this community for ages. I also know Miller and many others personally, and I haven't seen any change in the mindset of this community. People asking for the source code and wondering why you don't share it on the repository is very common. Also, like I said, it is very uncommon for people not to openly share it right away. I guess this may not be a real issue in the MAX community.

I think you may be feeling attacked and reacting defensively. Honestly, the difference in tone I see is from you. Relax, we're cool. We just really like open source and checking out the code and if it's not clearly released as an open source and with a license, we do in fact wonder.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing more of your contributions and code sharing.

Regarding the virus accusation: Falsely claiming that someone intentionally creates or spreads malware is a serious allegation that could be considered defamation. While online communications can often lead to misunderstandings, especially across language barriers, such claims carry significant weight and cannot be dismissed casually.
About the source code: My decision not to immediately share the code is rooted in specific project goals and strategic priorities. I'm genuinely open to constructive dialogue and welcome the opportunity to privately explain my reasoning to anyone sincerely interested in understanding my approach.
As a scholar, I intend to maintain a professional, respectful dialogue. If you or others have genuine concerns or questions about my work, I'm fully committed to addressing them thoughtfully and transparently. But make no mistake, I will only engage in discussions that are conducted with intellectual honesty.

That's what you took from saying it was "weird" and that "it almost looked like"? Seems more about how you want to interpret things than a language barrier. And that's what it looked like to me and I explained it in all honesty. I can't take that back, really. I'll even say it again, posting a repository with no source code and just a single .zip file that unpacks to an .exe is quite weird and almost looks like it's a virus... so I don't know, sue me? Or calm down fellow, really...
