hey there! i have a question: im looking for a way to list all files in a given folder in pd vanilla, (the aim is being able to dynamically choose audio files from a folder and load them to soundfiler)
is there any way to do this? and if not, is there any RPI compatible external that can do so?

@francis666 There was an external called folder_list (hcs library).
It existed in pd-extended_0.43.4~extended1-1~raspbian_wheezy_armhf.deb, but is it compatible with later flavours of Vanilla and Linux?

@whale-av thanks! thats a good start, do you happen to know where i can get the same external for mac? (i build on osx and run on the rpi...)

@francis666 It seems (it was in extended for windows and RPI) that you could get it by downloading extended for mac from http://puredata.info/downloads/pd-extended
and extracting what I think will be "folder_list.darwin"...... ? from the extra/hcs folder.
Shots in the dark though.
And I don't know if it needs any other executable files from that, or other folders.

Extended version of hcs library is also available through deken, so it's easier to get without downloading the full extended package on OSX.

thanks again, tho i assume it wont work on the rpi cause i think it needs to be compiled for the arm processor?

Two years late but might help others. As hcs is (sadly) not available from deken for armv7, then you could simply do this command in terminal :

sudo apt-get install pd-hcs
