@whale-av Excellent! Thank you so much. That is a really helpful guide for me to hopefully get to grips with things.

I've tracked down the folder in Downloads/Automatonism where the files are saved. So from now on each saved project file will be named 'π‘šπ‘Žπ‘–π‘›,𝑝𝑑'?

Can't seem to find this folder though:

    "𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑑𝑒 π‘π‘Žπ‘ π‘–π‘-π‘œπ‘ π‘.𝑝𝑑 π‘“π‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘š π‘‘β„Žπ‘’ 𝑏𝑖𝑛/𝑒π‘₯π‘‘π‘Ÿπ‘Ž π‘“π‘œπ‘™π‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿ".

    "π‘ˆπ‘›π‘™π‘’π‘ π‘ ..... π‘¦π‘œπ‘’ π‘π‘œπ‘π‘–π‘’π‘‘ π‘Žπ‘™π‘™ π‘‘β„Žπ‘’ "π‘šπ‘œπ‘‘π‘’π‘™π‘’π‘ " π‘–π‘›π‘‘π‘œ π‘‘β„Žπ‘’ "𝑒π‘₯π‘‘π‘Ÿπ‘Ž" π‘œπ‘Ÿ "𝑙𝑖𝑏" π‘“π‘œπ‘™π‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘ ?"

Wouldn't dare without fully understanding what I was doing.

So, any advice on how to save & store each individual project, please?

I'm still unclear as to how to do that & still be able to work on a project after saving.

    Many thanks.

Sorry! Confused. I thought I'd sent you some good news.

    "𝐼 π‘Žπ‘ π‘ π‘’π‘šπ‘’ π‘‘β„Žπ‘’ π‘œπ‘‘β„Žπ‘’π‘Ÿ π‘œπ‘π‘—π‘’π‘π‘‘π‘  π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘’ 𝑠𝑑𝑖𝑙𝑙 π‘›π‘œπ‘‘ π‘π‘Ÿπ‘’π‘Žπ‘‘π‘–π‘›π‘”.... ?"

I can load up the modules from the (Escape key) dropdown list - if that is what you mean?

Sorry if I am being incredibly thick.

Well, I had a patch open that I was working on at the time - so I tried both methods on that patch. They both worked, no problem.

:boom: Just tried it on a new main.pd file/page. Both methods work fine.

    Both procedures work.

So, let me work this out.

Copy the Automatonism folder from Downloads & give a project name.

Work on one main.pd file but don't change it's name.

Do that for each project & maybe save those folders in a suitably named master Folder.

O.K. Will give that a try.

    Thank you very much Guys
    Will report back.

Sorry. Not sure how to do this. Do you mean copy the whole patch area - modules etc?

    @whale-av Hi David

Thanks for the message. I am on Catalina.

As you can see I downloaded the latest version from the Automatonism site (3.1). This one's called 'purr-data'.
I still get the same problems. I can make a patch but saving it & saving parameter settings is not working yet.

Not sure how to "get info" - sorry!

O.K. So I started a new patch. Just the basic oscillator. I created a new folder on my Desktop. I 'Saved' the new project to the new folder. When I opened the project up, from the Desktop folder - it opened as a diagrammatic 'Comments' page'. No working modules. Have to get to the bottom of this, it's so frustrating.

I have to relinquish the Mac to my wife for the rest of the day.

So will get back to you as soon as I can.

    Thank you David.
