I just discovered a great set of Java tools called Nexus, which offers a wide range of audio controlers in the browser (sliders, buttons and many more). If I am not mistaken, this could be used to create a more diverse interface for PD patches, which could be run on a separate touchscreen device. I'm interested in this because it would be more customiseable than using midi hardware, and of course much cheaper (if you already have a touchscreen device, that is). You can find out more about Nexus here.
The catch is that you need to know something about web development to be able to use it, and I don't. I'm posting here to see if anyone else has done the necessary legwork to get it running on PD before. Maybe you could share your expertise? If it's new to everyone, then maybe we can work it out together, as I'm sure that this tool would be of interest to many people in the PD community.
Not sure if "technical issues" is the right forum for this post--please feel free to move it.
