when i'm setting audio out, to macOS system speakers, and then plug in headphones, i need to quit puredata to get the macOS external headphones to show up. is there a solution for refreshing the available audio inputs + outputs without needing a restart?

Thanks for pointing me to page1, i read page1 and thought that was the end of the thread.

hmm! so Aggregate Device, it seems like (Since I also need multiple inputs from multiple places).
I know about these, so I'll work it out, will post my results in a screenshot and whether PD is able to handle "unplugged headphones" & "re-plugged headphones".
