@Synthtest the sega genesis used this sound chip https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_YM2612 so you're probably going to want to use some fm synthesis (sounds like an arpeggiated c major triad in 1st inversion to me)

if you wanted to be super-accurate you could download the appropriate sonic GYM, VGM or the rom rip to figure out exactly what was sent to the chip

@Synthtest ExMM115-PDMTL-bell.pd will generate bell sounds.
It needs the cyclone and zexy libraries I think.
If you stop the metros and use much higher midi values it might be close.
