This Loop Machine (4 tracks) nearly perfect but there are 2 points I would like to change. The points I would like to change:

1. The stop record button. Now you need to push the record button again to finish a record. I would like to change it by pushing the record button again (track 1) OR another record track (track 2). By pushing the record track loop 2 the record loop 1 will stop and the new record on loop 2 will start.

2. The stop/play button. To stop a loop you have to wait until the loop finish. When there are multiple loops and you will stop a loop you have to wait until the whole loop finish. To play the stopping loop you have to wait the whole loop start from the beginning. So a good solution is the mute a loop when you push the stop button. The stop/play all button works perfect, I am talking about the stop/play button on a loop track.

Can you help me with this? I am very new in Pure Data so I REALLY need your help.

@Butahuruf I hope this works....... my_mod.pd
Put it in the folder machines/1
Then add it into moon_loopstation.pd by putting [my_mod] somewhere like this......

That will modify [moon_loopstation] and removing [my_mod] will return it to normal operation.

Thank you, I did exactly like what you said but nothing happens.
What di I do wrong

It should, when I start with rec-looper 1 and if I press rec-looper 2;

• looper 1 stop with recording

• looper 2 start with recording

when looper 1 and looper 2 play the loops and I press play on looper 1:

• looper 1 mute the loop 1 immediately

@Butahuruf Sorry, I forgot to include this...... once.pd
which needs to go in the same folder.
You should close the looper and restart it when [once] is in the folder.

Hi David, I found some glitches:

1. press rec loop 1, and press rec 2 to stop rec 1, rec 2 stop after 1 cycle....nothing is recorded on 2
2. press rec 2 again, the brec button doesn't work
3. after clean all loops, start new rec loop 1, rec loop 1 doesn't start and rec loop 2 start new rec. After reboot PD it works properly.

@Butahuruf Yes, I had not thoroughly tested. I will look again.

After all that you will have a good understanding of what is actually happening in Pd.... and so you will be able to read other peoples patches "easily"?..... unless they are a real mess.

Dr Hernandez made a lot of good videos (search for "Pure Data Hernandez").
The Floss manuals are good (search for "Pure Data Floss" and pick your language).
There is a lot out there.........

Not so easy without touching the original patch... but could be good.
I don't think the record button should work again unless the previous sample is deleted.

@whale-av Hi David, Thank you for your update but there is something different compared to the 1st version.
workflow; Loop 1 start rec > press rec Loop 2 to end the rec loop 1, the Loop 2 should start the rec immediately.... it worked on your 1st version. Sur

I think you should edit the original patch if it has too

Loop 1, loop 2, loop 3 are playing > Stop a loop (or 2 loops) > Stop All > Play (not using play all) one of the stopping loop(s) > The loop(s) won't produce sounds. After delete track(s) of that particular loop(s) can't records the new loop(s).

Hi David,
I look more closely at the muting loop. Your solution is to mute the loop until the end of the cycle and stop and wait at the beginning/start. So if you want to play it again, you have to wait until the other loop(s) reach the start point.

I am wondering or you can just mute it. So you don't have to wait if you want to play the loop again, right?
