For a project, I need to use Shared memory in order to reduce the CPU via pd~ and I need to share a texture between two instances of pd.

It was working well under OSX but on microsoft Windows it does not. In previous version of Gem (93.3) a message said that it was not working with W32 but now (0.94) even if the message is gone I can't make it work.

Any hints?

@60htz It works in Pd 0.48-1....... 32-bit / 64-bit I can't remember....... with 0.94-test3 Gem from here.......https://github.com/avilleret/Gem/releases/
But I am now very confused as to what is 32/64.
Which version of windows?
Dot Net installed? .... maybe dll's missing?
msvcr110d.dll is most likely.
etc.
And of course it works perfectly in "extended"....

I am on windows 10, I tried extended but it doesn't work (it's not a surprise since the message say that it will not work under windows).

I tried 0.48-1 with msvcr110d.dll, I tried also to install microsoft .net 4.8 but still this version of Gem 0.94-test3 "could not load"

@60htz Hard to say. I stuck with win7.
I doubt that I can send you executables in an email.
I will post screenshots of the folders and files I have, and the startup script for Pd, but it might be I don't have the time for about the next 5-6 hours.

I have a vague recollection that it worked the second time I ran the shortcut.... but it's probably a false memory.
I only run Extended installed..... that is why Gem is in a weird folder...... I access it from other versions of Vanilla as well.
Maybe the architecture is wrong?
I never managed to find or make a meta file but it doesn't seem to matter.
I really don't know whether it is 64 or 32...... I should investigate.
I pick up the help files from my Extended install when I need to.

Ok , thanks for all Anyway are you sure that pix_share_read/write is working on your Win7 config?

I feel that using windows computer with pix_share_read/write will be too much risk in this project since I will discover everything at last minute at the exhibition place... I will insist for an Apple computer or maybe I will make a Linux bootable and persistent usb key...

@60htz Yes, for a jpg still anyway, I sent it from one instance to another.
But yes, it has to be easier to stick with what you know is working.
And I forgot to mention that I am running win7 on a MacBook Pro (2013 I think) Intel processor.
