Hey guys,
I worked with PD in December and the audio in my project worked.
This week, I wanted to show my project a friend of mine, but the sound didn't worked (same file one month later).
But the strange thing is, DSP is on and the Testtone came out.
Can anyone help me?
Greetings JayCe

@JayCe Hello....... was the patch in a folder with other patches or files that it needed (when it worked)......?
If you have moved it somewhere else....... then it will not find them.If you have a new version of Pd something could be missing as well.
Otherwise....... ?

Hello @whale-av
Thanks for your quick respons!
I have no clue for your first question (it was 1 month ago).
But when I make a new file, it also didn't worked.
And I dont know, if I made an update (but I dont think so)The information about "It worked" was only, because I didn't made a mistake in the project.
Greetings JayCe -
@JayCe If you zip up your patch and post it here someone will check it for you.......

@JayCe No..... just contains shortcuts to the Pd program.
We need to see the patch that doesn't work..... "something_you called_it(dot)pd"

Sorry Hü Pd.pd

@JayCe That's good.
It does not produce any audio.
It sends midi notes out, and so it needs a midi driven instrument to make sounds.
In a windows system there is "Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth" built in..... in other systems...?
So you need to decide where to send the midi output......
Top menu of the patch window...... media...... midi settings.
You might need to download a software midi synth and then you will see it in the settings window.
I hope that helps!
David.

@JayCe You don't have any sound generation in your patch, only [noteout]. This means, DSP has nothing to do, as Pd just sends out midi notes and the sound generation has to be done outside of Pd.
So you would need a midi software or a hardware midi device to generate the sound. Depending on your OS you would also have to make sure that the midi notes are routed correctly. It can also be that your OS by default plays the midi notes with its internal default midi player and the OS of your friend does not.
