Apologies in advance, as I'm a newbie to Pure Data! I've been acquainting myself with all of he very helpful tutorials (and trying to not get too frustrated by all the extended patches out there...!), but I wanted to ask some advice.

Does anyone have tips on creating noisy live performance patches? Thinking merzbow, mark fell, Tim Hecker style. Ideally it would be able to react to an input signal using sigmund~ or fiddle~.

@etch Sounds to me like Merzbow has an audio track running behind (but not necessarily music..... it has a bass line giving pulses and some street sounds). You should probably google something like "audio glitching"....... but to get you going try this....... noisy.zip
It's simple, but will get you started.

Read this...... http://puredata.info/docs/manuals/pd/x2.htm ..... but stop before chapter 2.9...... and you will make less mistakes in your patch building. Then check out the "doc" folder in your Pd install.

Also try just doing a text search in the Pd folder. Most objects are named as you would expect...... like [noise~]........ (all audio objects have a "tilde" at the end of their name).

The best place to look for help is definitely this forum....... but in the "technical issues" section. It doesn't really matter as everyone will catch your post, but it keeps the forum tidy.
