Hi all,

I'm running the latest Purr-data version on OSX 10.12... and it doesn't seem to load the included libraries.
For example, the shell object, or mavg, dsp etc. should be included but are not being loaded.
The first time I started Purr-data, they were. But now, no matter if I reinstall it or whatever, they are not being found.

If I open help files of these externals from within the application (so Pd-l2ork/Contents/Resources/app.nw/extra/pddp/dsp-help.pd for example, the abstraction dsp.pd loads just fine.

What's going on?

Hm. Try Edit->Preferences and then click the "Startup" tab. What do you get in "Search Paths" and "Libraries"?

There's nothing in them... should they be populated?

Yes.

Check Pd-l2ork/Contents and Pd-l2ork/Contents/Resources for a file that is something like org.purrdata.plist (that's probably not the actual name, but it should be something close to that).

What is the content of that file?

@jancsika the contents of that file (org.puredata.pd-l2ork.default.plist are as follows.... if I had to guess, <string>-helppath ~/Library/Pd -helppath /Library/Pd</string> should be something like Pd-l2ork/Contents/Resources/app.nw/extra instead of ~/Library/Pd ?

Which seems OK? But why is the list not populating.
The only thing I did between running Purr-data the first time and the other times, was reinstalling the Xcode dev tools with xcode-select --install... could that have had any influence? I did try and reinstall Purr-data after that though.

Same for me on OSX 10.9, the startrup list is empty.

Ah, great! I'll keep the solution in mind if anyone else runs into it.

Hi,

I might be a little late to this post, but I have the same problem with pd-l2ork (version 2.5.1 edit: on OS X 10,12.6).
My Search Paths as well as my libraries and startupflags are completely blank, right after installation. I can't find the .plist files @maaark was talking about, can you maybe tell me where you found them?
Are there other fixes I could try?

Answering myself:

resetting the prefs of Purr Data seems to do the trick: on Mac its
rm ~/Library/Preferences/org.puredata.pd-l2ork.plist
and then restarting pd. The startup settings now seem to be populated.
