Hey, i'm wondering if there is a way to use the function of the [select] object but with several variables. For example

[atom] [48] [56]
| | |
[select]
|
[bang]

So when the atom reaches 48 and 56 it bangs. I reckon [sel] only matches with one other number as long as I dont specify like [sel 48 56] but that won't give me any variable opportunities.

Any thoughts on this?

Do you need [sel] to output a bang when it receives these two values successively, or do you want to have two arguments which you can change dynamically?
For the first case, I guess you can build a mechanism to do that, maybe using [== ]? For the second case, I guess you'll need to use as many [sel]s as the number of dynamic arguments you need. In case I've understood what you're after...

@bamsehopp Hello bameshop....... You will have to distribute your atoms to two separate [sel] objects (or more if needed) if you want to change their values dynamically.......

Thanks for the replies. The dynamic one with variables was the one I was going for. Since I will have alot more of those variables it's a pity there is no object that can handle multiple match-numbers.

@bamsehopp in extended there is [list-sieve]...... but it is more "expensive"....
For lists there is almost always what you are looking for in pd-extended........

I guess [list-sieve] is a vanilla abstraction from the list-abs library, so, you can install the library though deken (I guess?) and use it...

@alexandros You are welcome Alexandros. I have a shortcut to the Pd folder on my desktop just for searching for useful objects and abstractions. I have become acutely aware of the enormous effort and intelligence that has been put into Pd over the last 25 years, and sometimes I just browse the help files for interesting stuff....... It's hard to remember and find them again. I have built up some folders with the most interesting / useful objects copied in...
