I use class_addmethod to register a message receiver,

everything works fine if I send messages independently

but once I put all messages ( separrated by semi colon ) in a single message object

then the first message is treated correctly, but for other messages, I get

message2: no such object
message3: no such object
message4: no such object
message5: no such object

can someone enlight me on this ? I just want to avoid multiple message boxes

The semi-colon turns the message box into a send object, so [; one go ; two stop( sends sends a message "go" to channel "one" and a message "stop" to channel "two". If there are no corresponding receive objects, then you will get the error message.

To separate messages as you are intending, use commas.

As I mentioned, a semi-colon turns a message box into send object.

If you're seeing a box that looks something like [; pd-mypatch.pd xxx(, then this is used to send messages to the canvas itself for dynamic patching. But this is identical to [xxx(--[send pd-mypatch.pd]

but when I use colon, pd does not keep line formats and it becomes unreadable
I'll have to use a text file that store my patch config

You really should post your patch, if you need some serious help........ as we don't have much of an idea of the problems you are really encountering...
Vanilla, extended...... whatever....... someone will be able to help/solve the problem.
That is my experience...... and I humbly suggest that it will help......
