Capacitive sensors/ Connect PD to Arduino
Hello!
I'm quite new using PD. A couple of years ago my friend helped me create capacitive sensors using both PD and Arduino. However, since my old computer got stolen, I'm having a hard time knowing what libraries and setups I need on PD. This is a list of all the errors I get. Please.. help 😅

Building on Windows - works from Git source, not from tarball
I wanted to build PD on Windows 10 to get ASIO support. I failed when I used the "Source" files from the PD website. I succeeded when I used source that I cloned from Github. I followed the same instructions from the wiki both when I failed and when I succeeded. (They are the same as in the manual, just a little more concise.)
I am sharing below my terminal output from the failed build attempts from the downloaded source code (the tar.gz file). Some of these messages suggest that there might be errors in the makefiles. I don't know anything about makefiles, so I can't really interpret the errors. But I did want to pass them along, in case a developer might find them useful. Here you go:

Sorry that I have little experience and can't understand what to do in these cases.
It looks like ÃŽ should have some extra patches. For example initbang is not recognized; same for print_long.
The tracklist opens the directory but recognizes no .wav files (i have replaced the spaces with underscores).
I also send my patch in attachment. It is quite messy, but working for files named m1, m2, v1, v2, etc. the idea is simple, all my .wav files have 10 seconds lenght, and there will be a superimposition of two .wav files at the same time, when block A is at 5 seconds, block B enters, and when block A finishes it goes to folder A to get another file.
But if you help me on the files you sent I can adapt your code to my patch, I think I could work it out.
Thanks in advance
Nando

Hello! Trying to get this working and installed PD-Extended using the Windows installer here. However, I'm still missing a lot of objects needed to run the patch. @whale-av suggested using the help browser to get the right library- does anyone know what library/-ies I need to get these objects?

Pduino problem
Hello everyone, ive got this problem while trying to connect my arduino to Pd. Already installed firmata, used firmata test app to check its ok, and it is. But when i open the arduino-test pd patch, i get this:

So, i select the port im using and the A0 pin which is the one with the potentiometer im gonna use, and i get thousands of UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND messages, i turn the pot and the values go from 0 to 1000, and the pd device info block has Firmata 2.5 so its recognizing the device, but cant go beyond that. Any ideas? I see that moocow is missing (and that could be relevant), but couldnt get anything using the "find externals" function.

Using two identical USB soundcards in Pure Data on Raspberry PI (raspbian stretch lite)
I needed a cheap way to get audio in/out of PD on RPI so I bought a couple of these tiny white USB soundcards with line out and mic input (less than a dollar each) as I'd read here that they work with RPI.
http://raspberrypimaker.com/cheap-quality-audio-raspberry-pi/
They work ( RPI1, model B ), and the output is decent, but there's an annoying high-pitched hum originating from the mic input that is probably due to the proximity of the ADC to the DAC on the unit.
I though I'd solve it by using one card for the mic input and another for the output.
As far as I understand, this should be possible using the -audiodevout options in the pd command line (or the gui settings). Neither of these have worked for me. Specifically, pd outputs from the same card, even though I specify the correct device number in =audiodev or -audiodevout. Both cards work well when used alone.
I'm guessing the problem is that pd sees the two devices (or at least refers to them) as identical. This is the output from pd -nogui -alsa -listdev
audio output devices:
- bcm2835 ALSA (hardware)
- bcm2835 ALSA (plug-in)
- USB PnP Sound Device (hardware)
- USB PnP Sound Device (plug-in)
- USB PnP Sound Device (hardware)
- USB PnP Sound Device (plug-in)
So even though one card is here listed as device 3-4, and the other as 5-6, pd always plays audio from the same card when given any of the numbers in -audiodev. / -audiodevout.
I'm very inexperienced with linux in general, but it seems that since alsa does give these two devices a unique name/number, pd. should be able to distinguish between them. This is the output from alsa -l

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
It's been a long time
It's been a long time since I've used PD and recently decided to dive back in again. I also upgraded to PD 0.48-1 from a much older version. The problem I'm having is that much of what I've patched before doesn't seem to be recognised. As an example these would do anything, and more besides:
phasewrap~
... couldn't create
framedelta~
... couldn't create
cartopol~
... couldn't create
frameaccum~
... couldn't create
poltocar~
... couldn't create
or even a simple DSP on/off switch doesn't seem to be recognised:
[pddp/dsp] just throws an error?
So, my question is, do I have to install something new nowadays, or have many of the original objects changed names (as an example). If someone could point me in the good direction, I'd much appreciate it as trying to fix up patches is laborious ... and maybe I'm wasting my time (and need to learn new object names)?
Big thanks in advance - Joesh.
