[https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/user/whale-av] I have found the problem. In Media - Audio Settings I currently do not have any input device and needed to deselect the input device, even though it was recognised as being absent.
    Thanks.

I have realised I do not need to open a patch. All I do is turn on DSP and I get the message. If I turn off DSP and turn it on again, I get the same error message.

I have just downloaded the latest version of Puredata (0.55.2). When I start Pd, on the very first patch I run I get "audio input device number (0) out of range". The patch works and if I close the patch and reopen it or open another patch, I get no error message. It is only the first patch I run after starting puredata.
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong and if I ought to do something about it?
    I'm on Windows 11.

I have been running some old patches in the latest version of Pd and get error messages for [pink~] and [freeverb~] indicating they are not supported. Are there newer versions that provide pink noise and reverb?

@jameslo I have created a new patch with the new version, but when I try to save it in the old location, the location cannot be seen or found, and using the recent folders in file explorer, I get the error message that the location is unavailable, even though I have both versions of Pd up and running at the same time.

@whale-av The folder still exists; I can access it using the old version of Pd.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I get the error message "Error: can't create directory ..."

I have just downloaded a new version of Pure Data but cannot access the folder with my patches in from the old version of Pd. File Explorer thinks the location is not available, even though it shows me the patches under "recent files" accessed. With the old version, clicking on the recent file, it would open Pd, but when I try that now, it opens the new release, but not the patch. How can I get access to my old patches?
