Suppose You have a good PD GEM patch and You want to send the visual output via internet somewhere in the world on a screen (via modems etc) in order to make a sort of "on the air distant video installation/happening"Does some one has an idea what I should integrate into my PD GEM patch (a message above gemwin???) in order to send the output via my modem into the modem of the receiver and thus into the video projector at the destination (having or having not the PD program)
Thanks for evry idea or solution.....

Bonjour
I downloaded SNAPZ ( from Ambrosia )in order to make a 'video' from what I see when my Patch with GEM particles show the result on my screen. Now I am able to 'capture' the movie via the SNAPZ program without any problem
but
the movie will not take into account any changes when I push a slider or 'bang' for something else say change the size of a picture while the patch is still rendering
only the very first situation is captured as a Quicktime video when starting:
1. rendering the patch
2. switching the video SNAPZ to ONEven the patches rendering will change when if I push the slider
but the video capture
will not take into account this new situation I mean the new flow of particle which however I can see on my screen.I have asked the Ambrosia people but they don't know - for they are not familiar
with Pure Dataso if some one knows I would be very glad

ps
my aim is to make movies on a DVD in order to show to people the outcome of our work.....

Does some know how to make use of pictures for instance a fish, a personon on a bicycle or what so ever without the frame or the whole paper sheet
my aim is to render them as particles running over the GEMWIN just as a fish a person and not as a sphere or a cube etc
I have heard about using the alpha..... and what after the alpha and but what kind of background in the GEMWIND?
merciGottfried

hello
i think things are much more simple:
suppose you make a picture of what you want to show say.XXX.jpeg
put this picture or series of them into your patch via the: pix or multipix and rotation or translate and so ondont try every thing with the same tool look into the toolbox first thats more pragmatic

Yes one can use without difficulties the objects comming from GROBOTO in the PD GEM patches via the "export" function from GROBOTO and introduce them in the PD patch via the PD panel......the GROBOTO of3D objetcst must be strored somewhere else on the hard disc
I made the tries on my MAC

suppose you want put your rendered pic onto a video projector
therfor you add a ""message" via "put" saying: fullscreen 2 and "connect the message to the "gemwin" object, that's all of course you must set the preferences of mac OSX
monitor adequatly and then drag the second or fullscreen 2 outside your desctop, to the right side there you have the rendred picture and your desktop is your patch commander.....sorry for this "english"

proposal
1; draw white on black
2;use the GEM
3;introduce the object alpha with it's bang somewhere below the gemhead and over the particles 'sphere' or 'cube' or whatever geometric objectcreate your screen and make the particle move and than bang on the alpha
can have phantastic effects -

Bonjour
I make good use of the object pix_multiimage you connect to it's inlet a messge containing the full 'indication or the way -sorry for my bad english' to a folder where you have put the series of Your images> Your images should be in JPEG not bigger than 2000 x 2000 and their name only quite short like 1.jpg for Your 12 or more images; the content of Your messages is for instance :
open/users/steph/img/*.img 11where steph is your computer's name
11 means 11 plus one ,the 12th images in total You want
of course You can make them an other quantity......but than img 11 must say it accordinglynow you add via put a: slider or a:radio and you can choose via a right click, the properties, the lenth of the slider's cursor or the number of the boxes of the radio in this case 12
When you create your screen's patch and start rendering You click on your message box you just created : open/users/steph/img/*.img 11
and now You can show one after the others of Your 12 imagesin addition You illuminate Your images via an object called: alpha, but that is an other story
You can not save Your preset when You destroy Your screens output but there is a way I did not yet try myself via an object called: sssad so.......
in my patches i use 3 or more of these img series whom's name are img1 or img2
and so on
very efficientgood luck

Bonjour
Thank You bothI am working with my Mac Book Pro 15 2 GHz Duo Core.......
Leopard and XP via PARALLELS (excellently.....)I want to stream the outcome of my PD GEM Patch somewhere in the world via internet and not on a local network
so I will study and try out Your suggestions and very kind help
I am a new bee since november so it will take some time
if ever it would be possible to get a patch with the relevant objects, messages, and all the necessary things I can't imagine have little autonomous experience I would be very glad and offer a bottle of Champain
