Hi,

I am working with twitter streams and I need to remove emoji inside Pure Data and display text with [text3d] (since it displays wrong and also it crash often).

Do somebody knows a good way to do it?

Here is a random tweet example:

Snow selfie😉😝😄 🎿❄️ #morzine #selfie #skiing @ Morzine - Santé, les Portes du Soleil

Ahahah, it was... me!
But I am still not happy with it this way, cause I need to keep accent AND remove smiley...

Actually the problem is that Accent are using 2 bytes of data and I don't know how how to make something that will fitler up to 2 bytes of data only (the smiley are about 6bytes I guess)

You could parse the Unicode list....... but it is already huge....... http://www.unicode.org/Public/emoji/2.0// and I suppose you would have to find a way to update it. Computers seem to be all about "fun" now so it is going to grow.
But if you want accents then can you not use [list-filter] as you did before, but limit to <=255 (maybe I am not talking about the same "accent"?)
