Hi and Happy new Year.

I would Love to know how to resize a canvas using a slider or message..

to explain further.. imagine a GUI with a button called more options but instead of opening a new window it just resizes the canvas or moves it.

Any information would be helpful.

How do you initially create the canvas or how do you know what the canvas is called in order to manipulate it?

I made a tool a while ago that lets you resize canvases using the mouse. It's not perfect, but it does work. The [cursor] object generates a nasty error message that you'll have to tolerate.

It should be used as an abstraction, but there are some instructions in the file itself.

I will give it a go. seems very handy.
i haven't got round to using pd patches like that e.g separate file abstractions. but ill let you know if i come across any problems.
