Hello. The difference between bp~ and vcf~ is that the latter allows more dynamic alteration of the center frequency via an audio inlet. Is there an object wherein all three inlets are audio, allowing for dynamic alteration of the q as well?

Also, I'm wondering if anyone knows an efficient way to normalize amplitude across the q and frequency (e.g. partial) spectra. If I simply boost the signal a lot and then use limiters, the quiet parts of the sound become amplified too much.

@s.elliot.perez Yes there is [vcf_filter~] but as it does not have a help file you will have to dig around in the extra/iemlib folder and draw conclusions as to its use from objects like [vcf_bp6~] and others that use [vcf_filter~] at their core........
Normalise generally means "turn up the volume of the whole track" as high as possible without any part of it clipping...... whereas if you change the dynamics or equalisation you are....... well,.... changing the dynamics and the equalisation.......... and the track is no longer at all "normal" and will not sound at all the same!......

@whale-av Many thanks for your reply. By "normalizing", I just mean amplifying the signal in correspondence to a higher q, so that the max amplitude stays approximately the same accross the board - of course it will sound different.

And while [vcf_bp4~] and [vcf_bp6~] work fine, I can't seem to get anything done with [vcf_bp2~] or the lone [vcf_filter~] (which requires a creation argument). Beyond the difference between 0 and 1, changing the q doesn't seem to do anything.

I'd like a first-degree bandpass of this kind and am wondering how to do it...
