Goodmorning everybody!
I'll be completely honest with you: I have to create a patch for a university exam and I have no idea how to do it; my project is a sort of air hockey table but, instead of playing with real objects, this game is played with the projection of the disk and the shadows of the hands. I'm asking your help because I don't know how to make pure data (linked with a webcam) interact with shadows…
I'd be so glad to receive son advices, thanks for your attention

Gilberto's link to the reactivision site will get you started. You will not want the same sounds..., but you will be able to patch your project in Pure Data (all of the tools are there for you) and you will be able to add the "toc..toc" sounds of the bat and puck.

@whale-av Hi, I have created the "field game", now the only thing I miss is the hands detector. My teaches suggest me to create something that observes the different position on my hand with one second or more delay; with this I can discover the strength to apply to the ball. But I don't know if there are already examples or something.
Please help me, I feel I'm so close to the solution but I'm so confuse

@Smic Hello again. You will need a camera to detect your hand and give the position. The tuioclient (from reacTIVision) can interface between Pure Data and reacTIVision.exe. reacTIVision.exe is a portable executable that can connect to a camera, or your webcam, and detect fiducial markers. It can also be set to recognise "blobs" like your fingertips, or anything "round". The size of the blob to recognise can be set.:

That will give you the input you need, although unless you have a very fast camera and video interface you must not move your hand too quickly.

I had never looked at those pmpd objects... amazingly useful patches! They are the very objects that I was looking for for another ReacTIVision project.
