Hi, my question is just as the title,

Is there any way to find out the samplerate of a sample file that I'm trying to load?

Or is there anyway to play the sample file properly regardless of its samplerate?

for example, if puredata's samplerate is set to 44100, is there a way to properly play the samplefile which could be either 48000 or 96000 without hearing it time stretched?

it appears so that there is the possibility to embedd metadata within some audio-file-formats

but the [soundfiler] object doesn't read them.

i would be delighted if i'm wrong and hope to hear about an solution.

as far as I know there's only soundfile_info from iemlib and wavinfo from ext13. both only work with wav files though
