Can anyone confirm if the current version of Pd's Tcl/Tk GUI and audio part are processed separately? I think I've heard from someone that newest version supports this. If true, does it mean GUI and audio are processed on separate cores? or does it mean they can be processed on separate threads?

they are separate processes that communicate over a socket. I believe pd communicates to the GUI in tcl commands and the GUI communicates back using fudi
