I just recorded this little waveguide feedback experiment: http://www.lubbertdas.org/feedbackdrones.mp3 (it's like 16+ minutes long with no musical development, so don't say I didn't warn you).

Most of it could probably be done with analog instruments and equipment, but I promise I'll incorporate it into something more digital-sounding at some point.

This would sound awesome set up something like a 10second delay line with 100% feedback, and just build up onto a big atmosphere.

I like the sounds. Feedback and drones are some of my favourite sounds.

Yeah, I had maybe a 2-second delay, and I didn't like how it sounded with feedback close to 100%. I thought it was too dense, without enough space. But if I made it longer, there would be more room for silence or some sort of negative space.

Also your comment gave me another idea: I think I'll use the delay to build up a looping backdrop and then stop feeding sound into it so I can solo over the background, or put other instruments over it in kind of a Terry Riley fashion. Also I could make several loops for different chords and switch between them. And then if I want to play another sound over it, I can switch~ off the waveguide-feedback subpatcher and just leave the delay or looping table running.

Yeah, i meant a looper as a seperate part. Kind of like frippertronics.

I love feedback, use it a lot when making noise and drones, although then mostly in the analogue realm! Quite liked the sound of this, think I migth need to play around some more with feeback in PD eventually.
