I have used it before and PD didn't work with it.
I use Pd 0.39-3 extended and osx 10.4.10
I have the same system as you (os 10410 pd 0393-) and soundflower works fine,
but I can't make Jack work with ableton.
How did you made Jack work with ableton?
and btw, why you ever want to use other stuff then Jack?
Jack will use only 10 per cent of CPU than soundflower and 'will work better!
(if it ever works....)

Its been a while since i used it. I think you have to also select it as the driver in system preferences, aswell as in Pd prefs. It kind of 'takes over', so any audio passing through the system goes via soundflower. To monitor the audio you also have to install soundflowerbed, which can route audio to your soundcard.
THats why I prefer Jack because it doesn't work in this way. YOu only have to activate it and select it as the driver in whatever app you want to use it. When this happens it also appears in the routing window. Plus PD runs natively in Jack mode which makes it much more efficiently (everyone seems to think so)
I've never had problems with Jack and ableton. What problems do you have particularly? It might be that you have the routing set up wrong

Well, I've selected audio output in pd to jack router,
I've selected audio input in ableton jack router,
I've made audio route setup in jack server like; send-pd recieve-ableton.
then there's no soud at all...
any idea?

i think your setup is right. ensure the ableton preference and the channel input are all jack input.

oh, I had this problem. Think its to do with the new Jack architecture being multiprocessor aware. Pd was fixed for this on 22/02 in the autobuilds. I thiought this was only for Intel macs.
Try this one- works for me:
