Hi there, first time posting. Cant find help on google. Trying to make a midi program change patch for my guitar pedal.

the GUI will just have buttons that have predefined midi program change messages so I can have access to various patches on one screen.

What do I need to output midi program change messages?

Perhaps someone can point me to a place where I can learn more about this or is there already a patch out there for this?

that help page is helping a bit but I am still totally lost. Im gonna share where im at so far.

I think it's best to start incrementally. Don't try to handle every problem all at the same time.

That is, step one: Try to send a number to [pgmout].

Now, look at the format in the midi-help patch. There is a number box attached to a [pgmout] object.

In your screenshot, you have a number box attached to a message box (not an object). So this naturally will not do the same thing as a [pgmout] object.

At this point, then, there is one more possible point of failure: MIDI connection. Make sure, under Media --> MIDI, that you are connecting to the right hardware. You could do everything right in the patch, but if the MIDI settings are wrong, then you won't get the result.

So the test, then, is to just send a number to [pgmout] and see if it chooses the right program in the hardware.

There isn't much point in proceeding to the GUI until you have this working.
