So, I made an object that I would like to use to write soundfiles using writesf~. However, the files are saved in my library of saved patches. I was trying to direct the file to the proper folder but cannot figure out how to do that.

So, if my patch is in:

users/nameofuser/Folder1/PDpatch.pd

But the saved patch is in:

users/nameofuser/Documents/pd/externals/special

Can I put a path to get the file to save in Folder1?

open ?/nameofaudiofile

@raynovich If it were a sub-folder of the folder containing the patch then something like /temp/audio/file.wav
But for a folder higher up the tree the whole path from root so something like C:/......../...../file.wav (If C;/ is the root.... otherwise whatever it is.....)
