This Loop Machine (4 tracks) nearly perfect but there are 2 points I would like to change. The points I would like to change:

1. The stop record button. Now you need to push the record button again to finish a record. I would like to change it by pushing the record button again (track 1) OR another record track (track 2). By pushing the record track loop 2 the record loop 1 will stop and the new record on loop 2 will start.

2. The stop/play button. To stop a loop you have to wait until the loop finish. When there are multiple loops and you will stop a loop you have to wait until the whole loop finish. To play the stopping loop you have to wait the whole loop start from the beginning. So a good solution is the mute a loop when you push the stop button. The stop/play all button works perfect, I am talking about the stop/play button on a loop track.

Can you help me with this? I am very new in Pure Data so I REALLY need your help.

@Butahuruf Last point first.
You can mute loops like this..... my_mod_mute.pd
There is a lot of other rubbish in there, but it should simply mute loops......... but it should also still mute them when the play buttons are used.
Same principal....... put it in the folder and then the patch.

All day studying the logic part of the patch today.
It is built not to start recording the second loop until a whole first loop has played once, because it needs time to set and get the tempo and do a few other things and by then it has missed the start of that first repeat.
I am going to have to sleep on how to change that.

Questions.
Are you using this with the arduino hardware?
Is it important that the second loop starts recording immediately as the first stops?

@Butahuruf Ok. I will see if it's possible to record to a temporary buffer.
Put your element names back as they were. The [my_mod_mute] module will not work with the arduino hardware so I will have to change the looper patch.

but the whole loop is so big and expensive to build. It uses a laptop, I prefer raspberry pi.

@whale-av No hurry take time. maybe you can build your own an open source PD loopers project.
This software is perfect

http://www.circularlabs.com/ is a awesome opensource loopers but it is only for mac and windows.
So maybe you should abort the lucibox. Pls let me know what you think.

@Butahuruf If you could prefer Mobius there are some images available for the RPI which include "wine".......... and so you can run Linux and a Windows emulation on the RPI and then run Mobius or run the Mobius VST within Pd in windows.

You helped me to add mute buttons. It works. But I need to adjust this to looper further to:

1. connect the mute buttons to arduino
2. change the overdub (recordings after the first recording loop). The lucibox waits until the first loop reaches the startpoint before starting the overdub.
   It would be great if the overdub starts without waiting the startpoint's procedure.

I hope you can help me with this. Thanks anyway

@Butahuruf Ready-made Solutions Require Ready-made Problems; For Everything Else There Is Pure Data (smart quote by a friend Matju)

Learn how to do it yourself (fix the patch). You will be able to do so much more after learning pd. If you don't have the time, then use a full-fledged looper aka sooperlooper - everything you ask should be there.

@Butahuruf I have read through this thread and looked at engine1 and honestly I have no recollection of how it works and how I hoped to solve the problem.
I am very busy elsewhere and although it's an interesting challenge I cannot say when I might find time to get my head twisted around it again.
It will need a few days in one go and so it could be in a week, or really it could be in a few months from now....

I got this from the developer to connect mute to arduino.

"In order to add state controled with the arduino, you need to go to the "Connect" section.
In it there is serveral patches call "connect_smth". In it, there is a patch call "extra/midiLearn".

Use it creating an object called "extra/midiLearn nameOfcontrol" , where 'nameOfControl' is an unique id and also the file name associated in the "preset folder". Trough this object, you can control puredata with an arduino in, midi input or keyboard input. Click on the red toogle to activate learning, a window appear, then press the arduino or midi input to save the input.

At this time, midiLearn is working but is linked to nothing. I used "extra/sv" patch for connecting an unique parameter trough different location. You can use it in the same way than "extra/sv $1_$2_looper_volume" that control the volume. "
