I try to use pulseaudio but once I start it, pavucontrol sees all my devices but puredata does not recognize any sound card anymore
I need PA cos my sound card has no possibility to level the record input

@phil123456 No idea, as not using Linux...... but PulseAudio says that it can sit between audio applications and stream audio to them.
So either PulseAudio needs to create a virtual audio connection that Pd can then see.....
Or you need to get at the stream.
Various objects have been created for Pd for mp3, ogg, and raw audio streaming in the past (some included with "extended"),such as [streamin~], but I don't know which if any were available for Linux.
If you Google "Pure Data Stream" you will find them.
If you have no luck then you could use a simple potentiometer in between an external source and the Computer (for external sources only of course, but any internal source should already be "in range").

@phil123456 Pd and PA can be use together, at least on my setup, but really you should install and use jack-audio (sudo apt install qjackctl && qjackctl
should get you started).
