Context 4.0 is now available on Deken! This is a milestone release, as it is more or less stable, fully documented, and much easier to install. In Vanilla 0.48.1, simply go to Help --> Find Externals, search for "context" and download! After doing this, you'll have to declare the folder by going to Preferences --> Paths --> new.

@weightless, Context is definitely available on Mac, but for some reason this package isn't showing when you search for it. Perhaps it will appear once the server syncs?

In the mean time, you should be able to download the pd_darwin.tar.gz file from here, copy the folder across and declare it.

@EEight I've never tried it on RPi before, but this is a question that I've been eager to explore. In fact, I just got my first RPi (2) with the aim of testing it. The main barrier is going to be getting all the externals to run, as I don't see them pre-compiled on Deken. Am I missing something here? Help would be appreciated, as I'm completely new to RPi.

Once the externals are sorted, I would guess Context would run quite happily on RPi. In general, Context is CPU light but memory heavy. The advantage of being modular is that you can scale it, so lighter patches with a few instances of Context (say less than 20) should run fine.

@LiamG hi liam - very excited to delve into context - it looks amazing, thank you for sharing it! unfortunately tho i'm running into some issues when trying to install on windows 10 (64 bit), pd 0.49.0.. for some reason, it doesn't seem to be showing up in deken, and when i try to run a context-related patch provided by the github, pd outputs errors saying that the iemguts objects can't be created. (i believe this has to do with the iemguts makefiles being bash-based, so windows can't compile the C and C++ files.) getting a little out of my league here tbh, so any advice/guidance/thoughts would be much appreciated!

Hello @cmovvv, sorry for not seeing your post at the time! You're right that Context doesn't work yet on 0.49 Windows 64. I'm working on getting it fixed, but as you can see, I haven't been putting much time into it recently**. In the mean time, you should be able to download all of the externals yourself and then run Context off of those. There is information in the readme on how to do this. Otherwise, running it on 0.48 should also work fine.
