Hi again, anybody have some clue about that? Maybe Gem is not the best for single buffering drawing?
@60htz I think I read about it somewhere, and I cannot find it, but it was most likely in the extra/gem folder somewhere, maybe in the manual, but I seem to remember it was in one of the example patches (in the Gem folder again)..... and unfortunately I cannot remember what was explained.
In case it is not a problem (for us and that is why no-one has replied)...... here is a short real-time clip of a portion of the gem window output for your patch on my system.....
David.
Thanks for your reply!
On my macbook (i5) it's very slow...it shouldn't be as slow because double buffering is ok.
I don't fully understand.
@60htz If you look at your metro's outputs, are they running as expected? or is all time running slow? Mine is an I7, but gem is 32-bit and not multi-threaded, so it should be using just half a core on both our machines. I am running extended 0.43 for gem under win7 though..... Gem does not do much heavy lifting.. it passes all the hard work to the graphics card using OpenGL..... just like a computer game. I would look at that side of things first. Otherwise, if you are running audio in Pd at the same time I would try relaxing the audio latency. Audio problems always delay graphics...... audio has priority.
David.
