Plugdata is acting really weird when trying to do so , either crashes or the size reverts to 2 .
Is there anything wrong with this message , usin the same $1 ?
pure data vanilla handles it just fine
I suspect it has something to do with the redrawing of the garrays , these are build but there s no way to open the subpatch of the garray to modify it

Using the enter key for a new line.
Not terminating the last command with a semi-colon.
I didn't know that the new line is no longer necessary in Vanilla..... interesting.
If that doesn't work then there is a problem with plugdata.

Can you not select the array in edit mode to enter its properties?

As far as vanilla is concerned semicolon is a newline even if it is not on a newline. After saving and closing/reopening the patch or closing/reopening the subpatch it will add in the visible newlines and it will look exactly like yours. Vanilla has worked this way for as long as I can remember.
