I am using PD to activate playlists with reed switchs on a breadboard, running into an arduino. I had this simple bit of PD for 1 switch working, but my mac crashed, and upon re-creating it gives me this error message when i press the switch;

error: readsf: start requested with no prior 'open'

Can anyone please help? its part of my final year project and its due soon!!!

this is the patch without the trigger or delay, how would it be changed?

i tried this by puttiing in the trigger like you recommended, and it didnt work. However, whether i added it correctly is another matter completely. I also figured adding a dela to sending 1 would mean open$ wav was sent first, but when i added a delay i got the error message "no method for bang". Any idea's?
