PROBLEM: My outputs coming from pd are way to loud.

On my computer runs a M-Audio Delta 1010 and I link it to an oldschool Yamaha02r over a digital Adat link. It seems that the audio test is ok since the sine does not distort even at 0dB but playing a normalized sample leads to a heavy distortion even at looooow level settings. I can easily see that the inputs of the 02r are overdriven.

Any idea how I can lower the outputs of pd in the preferences or something so i can listen to other peoples patches w1thout lowering the level every time before going to dac~ ?

I would like to see a patch analyze .jpg files like this and save the sounds...

But I'm not sure if I understand this right, will I be able to sync pd to a host like cubase for for example? I am looking for a way to do thant in the moment.

What about syncing two programs withing one machine? Is that also possible?

I did put a [*~ 0.006] before [dac~ ] already but I was wondering why this was nessecery. Greetings
