I was trying to use the python pyo library and got the same error.

I created a new admin user on my mac, and it worked for me.

But I still don't know why I can't use Pd with the original user, who also belongs to the Admin group ...

I think I have done everything: trying older pd versions, opening the first time with right click, check file permissions, change file permissions with command line... but nothing seems to work.

I mean, the app seems runs ok, it ask for permission to access my folders at the first time, and open patches ok. But it refuses to open PortAudio every time I click on DSP, or when I made changes to Audio Configuration.

I was wondering if maybe Jack is needed... is the only thing I did't check...

error opening audio: Internal PortAudio error

Hi, Puredata Pd 0.51.2 refuses to open audio. Everytime I try to setup audio I get "error opening audio: Internal PortAudio error" on the console.

I have tryied with the MOTU interface and built-in iMac audio interface and the behaviour is the same.

It use to work before. I have tryied older Pd versions with same results.

My setup is:
iMac (21.5-inch, 2017)
macOS Catalina 10.15.7 (19H2)
MOTU Ultralite mk3 hybrid
Pd Pd 0.51.2
