    @whale-av thanks for the tips! I changed the [prepend] objects to [list prepend] and realized it was probably thinking the [prepend] were [iem-prepend] because I have iemlib as an external library loaded on startup (so when I make a [prepend], the help box is from iemlib). The other error (Cyclone: please use [mousestate] instead of [MouseState] to suppress this error) shows up upon opening both the mono and poly synths, but the mono works anyways. No other errors are appearing when I open the poly version. Still not getting any sound.... Incidentally, I also installed pd-extended to see if this would work there, and the monosynth worked as well, with no error messages, but the poly didn't. Strange, but such is the pure data lyfe.

    Hi, thanks for this awesome synth. I've been tinkering to get it working on vanilla, got all the externals running, and the monosynth version is sounding great (the one EEight uploaded to the repository). Unfortunately I still run into silence on the polyphonic version (the one posted at the top of this thread by coloscope). I get the following error messages when I open it up: ctl-bank-abs.pd 2 0 23 0 (swap->iem_prepend) connection failed
    Cyclone: please use [mousestate] instead of [MouseState] to supress this error
    I've been tinkering with the midiparse (which connects to that ctl-bank-abs object, but unable to make it work. Any ideas on what might fix this?

    Hi,
    I am a newb. I want to print a bunch of different levels (eg vol, mod, etc) from iterations of the same abstraction, each with its own creation arg, so that I can save the whole lot as a message that can be used a preset in a separate file. The levels are stored in floats, then when I press the 'print' bang, all those floats are output to different 'print' objects, each specifying the object in question (for example, the mod level on the fifth iteration will say '5mod: 2.5'). This gets saved along with all other data points in a message box that is then received by the same object (eg 'r $1mod:' , which for the fifth iteration will be received as 5mod:). This works great, except each time I want to create a new preset, I press print and then I have to add the semicolon to each individual message in the long chain. It gets tiresome. I'm wondering if there's some easier way where the 'print' could show the following: '5mod: 2.5;'
    You can't just type 'print $1mod ;' because it then outputs the following: '5mod /;: 2.5'. It seems like 'print' always keeps the float last. Idk what the '/' means in this context.
    This is all some preset-saving hack I came up with and surely there is also a better way to do this in general which I ought to learn. So far it's worked for me. But I keep building bigger things that require more semicolons to save presets and I get tired. For example, a 16 step sequencer, with a lot of different data for each beat iteration. So help on this question would be much appreciated!

Also more info on how to install cygwin and use it in command prompt is here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/41382/how-to-use-linux-commands-in-windows-with-cygwin/ From here, you don't have to try to figure out how to install the makefile program because you can use that command in command prompt now.

    Also I forgot that Pd Extended has a .exe file for all the windows users/newbs here (I doubt there are very many of us...) https://puredata.info/downloads/pd-extended/releases/0.43.4 and you can just install that.

    Hi,

    So once I download pd 46-7, how do I install it for windows 10? I tried downloading cygwin, but I couldn't manage to install automake (any tips on getting automake to install for windows 10? The readme was about 100 pages long and the basic installation instructions totally unclear...).
    Then I tried installing Visual C, which wouldn't install on Windows 10, installed Visual Studio 2015 instead, but then I wasn't sure if that's the same thing. Then I cd the src file with command prompt, but when I tried the 'make -f' command, it told me that wasn't recognized as a command. Can anyone give a sad dummy who just wants to connect some delay patches with some granular synthesis a step-by-step walkthrough for installation on Windows 10?
