Hello forum,
I'm having tremendous difficulties making pix record render a video file or making pd stable for this. I tried to use the h.264 codec but pd crashes and i tried using other codecs but when i finish recording i cant play the video file and quicktime says it is not a valid file.
"Finally when i load the video files im going to use i get this error message
[pix_film]: loaded file: C:/Users/ardotadot/Desktop/interviu/Película 55.mov with 1 frames (640x480) at -1.000000 fps
error: : no such object"I've attached the patch here so you can take a look.
What am i doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

For all the noobs out there...
About a little more than a year ago i started this quest to conquer my dream to use Pd for audio and synthesis purposes; since nobody would teach me i decided to open a blog as an "audiovisual diary" of my struggle working with Pd, math, coding, visuals, synthesis concepts, everything that i think i need to master this program. I also wanted to open the blog so that newbies could see how easy or how hard it was to learn all this by yourself and since there is little or no info in spanish and i saw a lot of people like me trying to learn but didnt know english, i started an ongoing series of tutorials focused on synthesis and audio, so here it is...
the info might seem a little scattered but there is an index that will guide you through all the things ive covered since i opened the blog, i would consider this as an autobiography in progress of me working with Pd more than an addendum to all the serious, academic and incredible things that are on the web since i havent reached that level. Hope you like it but mostly i hope it helps...

As i suspected, i wasnt able to reproduce the simple feedback fm algorithm that is in the computer music tutorial book so i came here with hope that someone could help me patch a simple feedback fm algorithm in Pd or tell me what are the workarounds with feedback in Pd so i can build it myself.
Thanks in advance -

Hello, im trying to send a message to vline~ to read an array that has a Gaussian envelope and id like to change the values in the message dynamically so the patch reads the array faster or slower.
I read a way to do this somewhere in Andy Farnell´s book and i remember it has something to do with a message box and "set" but i cant seem to make it work...
I´ve attached a small patch.
Thanks in advance. -

Hi, i recently started reading Designing Sound by Farnell and im in chapter 17 about additive synthesis. Seems like the abstractions called [spartial] and [partial] are not included in my library. Im running pd extended 0.42.5 in windows 7.
Are these real abstractions? or are they just there to explain the concept. If these abstractions exist could somebody point me in the right direction to download them? Id really apreciatte it.
Thanks in advance. -

Hello
im sure most of you know how to get true random numbers from pure data but i just found out about this site and i thought i came here and share it with the community for anyone who doesnt know how and is interested somehow using this as a creative tool and whatnot.
even comes with gaussian random number generator, integers, decimals, even a jazz scale generator...
enjoy! -

i wouldnt know what to call this, it uses fm, am, additive, reads from arrays to do modulate a bunch of things, uses the keyboard ascii code and translates it to binary to function as switches to turn on and off the sounds of 7 different oscillators...
just turn on the compute audio and listen to it play by itself
you can also turn off the metro to play it with your keyboard...
anyways i hope you like it, any comments, modifications will be greatly apreciatted.
peace!
