Hi,
i build this rather simple gate today. It's nothing more than a vca connceted to a pulsewave generator. To reduce klicking pulsewaves pass a lowpass filter. The stereo version let you set the phases of the volume regulating pulse waves.
But my qustion is what other ways are there to archieve a gating effect?

I recently discovered speciman. It's a exactly the tool i needed for utilizing the MIS Samples. But it has one major flaw, the looping function. You can't set the loop points as exactly as needed. It always produces nasty clicks when looping.
What can you do? Is there some way to remove the clicks in realtime? Some LADPSA or LV2 plugin maybe? A filter setting? Windowing?

Hi,
eversince i heared this track, i loved the brassy sound in the beginning. But how is it done and how can i recreate it in pd? I am sorry for this rather banal question, but i am somewhat of a rooky in electronic music.

There a tons of sampled musical instruments available in the internet, eg. here.
But how do you use them properly in a pure data patch? How do you make them "playable"?
I would like to make string instrument samples playable via MIDI in a pure data patch. What shall i do? Granular synthesis? Asign individual samples to individual pitches? I have no idea.
There is also another problem, i would like to play the instrument as long as the note is pressed, how do i achieve this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
second patch to publish. It is not quite a a beat slicer. It cuts the sample into 32 parts of exact the same length. You can rearrange them via the matrix made from |hradios|. I think it should be pretty self explanatory, how to use it.
I got the idea from a youtube video but i modified the way, the sequencing is handled. In my version, the sequencer moves from top to bottom, now the black square from the |hradio| is in the exact spot as the slice in the table above. You will see what i mean when you take a look at the screnshot attached or the patch itself.
In the future there will be effects to add for each slice (scratch, retrigger, pitch shift etc.), but as for today, this is as far as i got.
I hope to get some feedback this time!

Hi everyone,
I would like to install pd-extended on my Arch Linux system too. The official repos contain pd-vanilla only and the AUR package has been flagged as out of date. Has someone attempted to make an updated PKGBUILD file yet? Or maybe there is some alternative to the AUR?

I'm quite new to pure data (started about a month ago) and this is the first usable patch i managed to assemble. It's roughly based on Obiwannabe's wavtable absraction from his tutorial. Besides the GUI i think, the filter section needs some rework. Any further comments?
PS: This is my first post, so: Hi everyone!

Linux as the kernel can be patched for real time operations.

Manual would be to much credit i guess. It is more like a reference.

The manual states floor should have just one argument:
http://www.crca.ucsd.edu/~yadegari/expr.html
But apparently you need two. I don't know may it's a bug?
