Hi,
I'm working on a patch with piano samples, with individual samples for each note, and I was wondering how to simulate the sustain pedal effect in terms of sympathetic resonance.
Any ideas?

Edit : I was thinking of simply playing the samples of some of the notes that would naturally vibrate, at a very low volume and slow attack, do you think it's a good idea? I guess it would be pretty bad in terms of cpu load.

Given that the sustain pedal prevents notes from extinguishing too quickly, I guess that i would do 2 things :

1 - let notes that are close to the one i've just struck play a bit longer than those that are far. If the closest notes aren't playing, they would play anyway, very dim.

2 - make other frequency-related notes play dim, the closest, the louder.
