I recently discovered the object [freqshift~], and while it works perfectly well with Pd-l2Ork it is absolutely broken with my pd-extended 64-bit installation. Could someone else test this patch for me?

Basically, if you hit the toggle, you should be able to change between a regular microphone input to a microphone input + frequency shift of 500 Hz. Pd-extended simply does not work, even with the toggle unselected!

@gsagostinho confirmed. no sound at all. i have to delete [freqshift~]

@EEight Thanks for the info. On Pd-l2Ork it works, but not very well to be honest, there is a lot of other frequencies being generated when using it (I tested with a simple [osc~], and the result should have been identical to a pitch shifter), but it may be the algorithm itself.

As it turns out (from this post http://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/topic/7089/freqshift-in-sigpack/3), it is fairly easy to create a frequency shifter (I had tried other algorithms before but they were no good). Here is their solution as an abstraction: fshift~.pd

hmmm... on OS X i have the opposite problem: way too loud. the gain is a factor of around 10^12 too large.
edit: i think I tracked down this normalization issue. The original filter design tool that was used for the hilbert transform had a gain factor that the pd code doesn't. After getting the signal to the correct range it does indeed sound terrible though

@seb-harmonik.ar thanks Seb, so it seems in OS X it is working as Pd-l2Ork. I don't know why [freqshift~] sounds so terrible, that little abstraction I uploaded sounds so clean -- it really seems to be something with the algorithm itself.

@LandonPD thanks a lot, Landon. This is the same I get on Linux, so it looks it is broken in the same way on Windows.
