I am making a little abs which give the maximum and minimum of an audio signal. I also need a refresh button to actualize the values.
I test 2 method one with [snapshot~] and the other with [unsig~]
I don't manage to refresh with the [snapshot~] method whereas it works with the other one's, and i can't understang why. n you ?
( As I would like to use the same clock for min and max, I prefer to not use [unsig~] )

also this method isn't perfect 'cause the values depend of the metro frequency. it would be great to find a calculation at a audio sample rate... any idea ?

I can't see why it works better with [unsig~] than with [snapshot~], since the former is an abstraction based on the latter...
Anyway, if you want to do stuff at audio rate, the best thing I can think of is to use [bang~], which outputs a bang on every sample block, and either zexy's [tabminmax], which gives the minimum and maximum values of a table, or vanilla's [array min] and [array max], which do the same as [tabminmax]. This of course means that you store every sample block to a table...but that will work with a sample rate accuracy.

Also, when making a generic abstraction, I think it's good to avoid using other abstractions, and any externals, as much as you can (if you're gonna share this), so that it's easier for others to use it. Of course, using [array min] and [array max] would make it non pd-extended friendly, as they're not included there...kind of thinking out loud..

It disturb me because with the [snapshot~] method, when I actualize the calcul, I don't see any changement in the number box, whereas it did with the [unsig~] method.

@mx Hi, you should be able to see changes with [snapshot~]. Could you please post your patch here so we can have a look what is wrong with it? Also remember that [snapshot~] needs to be banged in order to output it's current value.
