Does anyone here have any experience with GPS data being fed into Pd? I am currently using some iOS apps that send information about the mobile to Pure Data via OSC protocol, but I couldn't find a single one that would send GPS data. I saw some discussions involving Android and libpd, but does anyone know anything about iOS and regular Pd (that is, non-libpd)?

A starting point could be Mobile Music Platform. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but the second example takes GPS data and uses it in a Pd patch loaded onto your iDevice via the MobMuPlat App. You might be able to send data back and forth via the 'MobMuPlatWrapper.pd' patch.

Hi @rjp9, thanks for your reply. In fact I do need to get this GPS data from an iDevice into my notebook, since there will be more than one devices being used at the same time feeding information into a single Pd patch running on my computer (so MobMuPlat will not do for me).

But I actually found an iOS app that supposedly sends out GPS information via OSC messages: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gyrosc/id418751595?mt=8

I still didn't have the time to check it out, but for $0.99 I will give it a shot. It may solve my problems, and if so I will post back here.

Thanks for your suggestion, I will have a look on MobMuPlat as soon as I have some free time. But for this project of mine, it is really not the correct tool to use. I am currently making a research involving object tracking and right now I am using iOS for this project only because I own an iPod Touch myself, but the final idea would be to propose a self sufficient kit with a GPS and gyroscope sensors using a x-OSC board or an Arduino board.
MobMuPlat looks very interesting and powerful, but it is something that would require time to understand (as opposed to a simple app that only sends OSC messages), and since in the end none of these things will belong to the final project, I just need an easy and immediate solution (that app that I posted above looks just like that, but I still didn't have a chance to test it).
