I think there are about 60,000 registered users in this forum.

And I don't think all of them would actually use Pd.

On the other hand, I don't think this forum covers all the Pd users around the world.

There is around 4250 registered users currently. When I migrated pd~ hurleur, I deleted all the spams registration and all the users that didn't post a single thread or reply.

That is way smaller than I thought it would be.
So I could probably expect total PD users to be around 5,000?

Does anyone know how many MaxMSP users would there be?
I'm guessing there would be at least 4 times more Max users than Pd users.

@cuinjune this forum doesn't represent the total number of PD users around the world. for example I have many friends here in Montreal that use PD but are not registered on this forum or even on the mailing=list.

I have no idea, I cannot even give you an accurate estimate, but you can try searching for individuals email on the pd mailing-list, then individual members on puredata.info + 4250
