I have been experimenting with Integra recently (http://www.integralive.org/) because I had the idea that it could allow me to switch between "scenes" containing my pd patches live and therefore save processor power...currently I run this massive performance patch in pd, and since all the parts are there are loaded all the time, even if they are not being used, they are consuming processor power.
There are a couple of strange things though, and I wonder if anyone else has experienced this, or is testing this pretty interesting new platform:
1. firstly, it comes with a built-in version of pure data with it
I guess the first question is, will this cause conflicts with the already installed version I have on my machine?
2. secondly, the hosted version that comes with Integra is wierd...it seems to be Pd Extended rather than Vanilla, but it hasnt got much in the way of libraries. So I copied the libraries I wanted from my other Pd installation over and added them in the startup paths and tried also in the other library loader window (dont know the real name for this, the bigger field above the startup path area, where you can make paths to other files) but the libraries do not load, and therefore the objects I need do not create.
however, if I use the object [import] they do...
but obviously it would be an awkward hassle to have to use this everytime, since I would like to try and implement some already build and totally complex patches...
any suggestions how I can get my stable of libraries installed in this version that comes along with Integra?
3. actually a related question is, is there anyway to install mulitple libraries at the same time? for example, using ""the bigger field above the startup path area" I mentioned earlier? it doesnt seem to be working in this version that came with Integra...
4. if any other integra users are on here, do you know a way of pointing Integra's integrated pd thing to my own pd installation, so it runs that instead of the one that came bundled with it?
sorry its complex, and yes, I am posting on their forum too...
I wonder if anyone else here is testing this thing, it seems pretty interesting.
