and another problem i am facing: why are the values of my sliders and knobs dont saved? the settings for the slider in my patches are always reset when reloading a setup. this is quite annoying and i dont have an idea why it is that way.

it works for sliders which are just placed along the canvas. but for my own patches the slider values are lost everytime.

someone please clarify how it is supposed to be done..

thanks for your feedback. the init option is set. so, do i see it right that i will need to create inlets for every parameter in my patches to use a message box to restore the parameters?

That is basically right.

However, there are a couple of options available. Search fror sssad, or maelstorm's state saving abstractions (http://puredata.hurleur.com/sujet-5664-state-saving-abstractions). I myself use a method which obiwannabe uses in his patches which involves a bit of patching but is very simple to reuse without a hassle in other patches.
